And if you don’t know, now you know…Pantone announced Emerald as Color of the Year for 2013.
Ways to use EMERALD in your home:
Paint: Emerald can make a great feature wall color, but only if you know what you are doing and have a color scheme in mind. For those with a less adventurous approach to color, painting just the trim or mouldings could give a room a fresh update. Either way, it pairs great with black, whites, grays, and yellows.
Accent: If you are feeling bold, pair with other vibrant jewel tones. If not, add some interest to a room by recovering your sofa or old dining room chairs, throwing up some playful wallpaper, or grabbing a fabulous rug for your living room.
Accessorize: Use Emerald colored fabrics for cushions, blankets, window treatments or accent upholstery pieces. Find some coloured vases, DIY a tray, lamps or small malachite pieces (for a more natural feel). Mix and match your accessories if you are hesitant to commit to fixed elements like sofas.
