Just Sold: New Horizons Coquitlam Home

Just sold in Coquitlam in one of the most complicated deals anyone from theMACNABs has been involved in. This New Horizons Coquitlam home is located right near the banks of the Coquitlam River in a beautiful slice of suburban living. The Coquitlam River is perfect for any outdoor recreation enthusiasts as trails on both sides of the water are perfect for walking, trail-running, mountain biking, and tubing in the water on a hot summer day. The area surrounding New Horizons Coquitlam is the border of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, but tucked just outside of the bustling Coquitlam City Centre. This area includes the shopping mall, Browns, The Keg, The Coquitlam Public Library, and many other shops and services. With the Evergreen Line opening on December 2nd, our happy buyers are now within walking distance to the Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station. While walking around Lafarge Lake and taking in views of the large fountain, the brand new amphitheatre, and the ever-growing Coquitlam Skyline, you’ll feel the vibe of an urban park just steps from the suburban front door.

Inside the New Horizons Coquitlam Home

Although built in 1981, this home was fully gutted and renovated in 2014. It contains 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, with everything gleaming to the nines. The home is 2,400 square feet sitting on a lot of 4,543 square feet complete with a garage, and covered patios for those summer nights. The open floor plan, kitchen island, and wood feature wall make this New Horizon Coquitlam home feel like it should be perched up in West Van! This home is perfect for our buyers to start the next chapter of their lives in. We’ll get to what made this such a crazy deal, but first scope out a couple more pictures.

Story of the deal

Jordan explains how this New Horizons Coquitlam home was able to be snatched up by our buyers, and how it used to be an ex-grow op:

After the original deal before us collapsed due to the new foreign buyer tax, the buyers walked after the new tax rules would have added $150,000 to purchase price. My buyers were able to score this house well under $900k. After inspection, appraisal, a few walk throughs, a bunch of discussions with lenders and reading all the remediation reports we pulled the trigger and I’ve finally successfully sold an ex grow op. I was extremely cautious and pessimistic but super happy my buyers are able to stay in the area they wanted and have a pretty sweet house to start the next phase of their life in. Congrats guys! Looking forward to your house warming party.

It was a rollercoaster of a sale, but another success and a happy family. If you would like anymore information on what’s going on around Coquitlam Centre at this time, give us a shout and we’ll get you all hooked up.
